Brooks Orpik is an American defenseman for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Orpik made a name for himself as a hard-hitting, physical defenseman at Boston College, where he won the NCAA Championship in 2001. He was drafted 18th overall by the Penguins in 2000, and made his NHL debut in the 2002-03 season. Orpik played only six games that season but made the full-time roster in the following year. In his first two seasons, Orpik racked up 251 PIM.

Orpik’s current defensive partner, Ryan Whitney, played with him at Thayer Academy in Braintree, MA.
