Mats Zuccarello Aasen

Mats Zuccarello Aasen is a Norwegian right winger on Modo Hockey.

Aasen joined Frisk Asker in the Norwegian league in 2004, and spent four seasons with the club, scoring 34 goals in 2006-07, followed by a 40 assist, 64 point season in 2007-08. Those two years earned him the attention of Swedish club Modo, and he was signed in 2008. He scored 40 points in 2008-09 during his rookie year in the Elitserien. At 5’7, 161 lbs, Aasen doesn’t stand much chance of making it to the NHL unless he adds considerable size, but he has demonstrated that he is a very capable scorer with plenty of offensive talent.

Aasen played for Norway at the 2008 and 2009 World Championships.
