Matt Carle is a Canadian defenseman on the Philadelphia Flyers.
Carle was drafted by San Jose in 2003. He went on to play college hockey at the University of Denver, where he won the Hobey Baker Award as the top college hockey player in the nation. He joined the Sharks in 2006, playing the next three seasons with San Jose, putting his best season in 2006-07, with 31 assists and 42 points. He was traded to Tampa Bay in the 2008 offseason, but played only 12 games before being traded to Philadelphia.
