Denis Grebeshkov is a Russian defenseman on the Nashville Predators.
Grebeshkov was drafted by Los Angeles in the first round of the 2002 NHL Draft. He played 12 games with the Kings before being traded to the New York Islanders in 2005. He played 21 games that season with the Isles, and was traded to Edmonton in 2007, after spending another season in the Russian Superliga. In Edmonton, Grebeshkov finally logged a full NHL season, finishing with 3 goals and 18 points in 71 games. In 2008-09, he had a breakout season, scoring 7 goals and 39 points, while finishing with a +12 rating. He was hampered by injuries in 2009, and the Oilers struggled to compete, so he was dealt to Nashville at the trade deadline. Unfortunately, he was injured in just his 4th game with the Predators, so he’ll have to wait until the 2010-11 season to make a good impression in his new hometown.
Grebeshkov played for Team Russia at the 2008 World Championship.
