Patrik Elias is a Czech left winger on the New Jersey Devils.
Drafted by the Devils in 1994, Elias has been on the team his entire career, starting in 1996. He has been one of the Devils’ top offensive players for the past decade, and has won 2 Stanley Cups with the team, in 2000 and 2003. He set a team record with his personal career high of 96 points in 2000-01, and holds many of the Devils’ offensive records. Elias has been a key part of the Devils’ success over the past seasons, providing a rare spark of offense on a team that is mostly oriented around defense. Elias was named team captain in 2006, becoming the first European captain in franchise history.
Elias has played for the Czech Republic at 3 international competitions, winning a bronze medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics.
