Henrik Zetterberg is a center/left wing on the Detroit Red Wings
Zetterberg broke into the league in the 2002-03 season after being drafted in the 7th round by the Red Wings. While many of the other teams were unaware of the immense talents that Zetterberg represented, the Red Wings had good scouting on him from the time he spent on the Swedish club team Timra IK, where he was named rookie of the year in 2001.
Zetterberg scored 44 points in his rookie season, and 43 in his sophomore campaign, even though a broken leg cost him 21 games of the season. Zetterberg returned to his Swedish club team during the lockout. Following the lockout, Henrik put up 85 points in the 2005-06 season and was named the alternate captain on the opening day of the following season.
Zetterberg, alongside Pavel Datsyuk, has assisted brilliantly in leading the Detroit Red Wings to yet another President’s Cup trophy in the 2007-2008 season. Zetterberg scored 43 goals and 92 points, and is currently in the top five playoff scorers.
Henrik has played for the Swedish national team on numerous occasions, including the gold medal winning Olympic and IIHF World Championship teams in 2006.
