Dan Hinote is an American right winger on Modo Hockey.

Hinote was drafted in 1996 by Colorado. Incidentally, he was the first United States Military Academy student to be drafted by an NHL team, and after his selection, he left West Point to play in the OHL. He made the Avs roster in 1999, but spent the majority of the season in the AHL. In 2000-01, he played 76 games with Colorado on the way to winning his first Stanley Cup. While he scored only 5 goals and 15 points in the regular season, he tallied 2 goals, 6 points and 21 penalty minutes during the playoffs that year. He played one more season with Colorado after the lockout in 2004-05, and signed with St. Louis in 2006. During his time in St. Louis, Hinote missed a significant amount of playing time with various injuries, and appeared in a total of 150 games, scoring only 25 points and 129 penalty minutes for the Blues. In 2009, he opted to try his luck in Sweden, signing with Modo Hockey.
