Greg de Vries is a Canadian defenseman on the Nashville Predators.
De Vries was originally undrafted, but signed with Edmonton, and debuted with the Oilers in 1995. He was dealt to Nashville at the start of the 1998 season, but played only 6 games before being moved to Colorado. While with the Avalanche, de Vries developed into a solid veteran defenseman, helping the Avs win the Cup in 2001. De Vries was traded to New York in 2003, and was dealt to Ottawa for the playoffs in 2004. After the lockout, he was sent to Atlanta, where he spent two years, and set a career high with 35 points in 2006-07. The following season, he signed with Nashville.
