Mikhail Jurjewitsch Chernov is a professional ice hockey player who was born on November 11, 1978 in Prokopjewsk, Russian SFSR. Chernov is best known for being a defender for Vityaz Chekhov, a major club in the KHL or the Kontinentalen Hockey-Liga.
Chernov started his career when he was still a young man when he was signed by Locomotive Yaroslavl in 1996. Chernov stayed with hits first ever pro team from 1996 to 1998, until he was able to transfer to the Philadelphia Phantoms. Although he has been a part of the Philadelphia Phantoms, Chernov was actually drafted in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers during the fourth round for the 103rd position.
After Chernov’s time with the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League, he transferred to the Locomotive Yaroslavl, but ended up spending three years playing for HK Spartak Moscow.
