Hockey player Stanislav Galimov was born on February 12, 1988 in Magnitogorsk, Russia. A professional ice hockey goalie, Galimov plays for the Ak Bars Kazan of the Continental Hockey League. He started playing for the team since 2008 up to the present. He also ranked number 34 on the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Galimov started to draw attention in 2006 when he replaced net minder Norrena in the net in Ak Bars’ face off against the Russian team Dynamo. Prior to his days with the League Galimov played for Traktor Chelyabinsk-2 in Russia from 2003 to 2006. From 2006 to 2007 he played for Neftyanik Almetievsk before moving to Ak Bars Kazan in 2007. Awards that he has won include the U20 WJC Bronze Medal. He was also the season champion in 2008-2009 of the KHL Gagarin Cup. There was a short period in 2009 when Galimov, along with Georgy GEllashvilli, was one of the top goalies who remained undrafted in Russia. Although he is one of the best goalies in the league, Galimov is not really well known outside of Russia.
