Sergei Arekaev is a Russian right winger on Amur Khabarovsk.

Arekaev began his career with Spartak Moscow in 1999, while the club was still in the Russian Second League. He was with the club in 2001 when it was promoted to the Super League, and had 11 points in his first season at the senior pro level. He had 22 points the next year before being traded to Ak Bars Kazan in 2003. He was dealt to Metallurg Magnitogorsk midway through the 2003-04 season, and played another season and a half with the club before being dealt to Severstal Cherepovets in 2006. He didn’t even play one full season with the club before being traded to HK Atlant in 2007. He had a career year with Amur Khabarovsk in 2007-08, scoring a career high 17 goals and 31 points, as well as 72 penalty minutes. He split the next two seasons between HC MVD and Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk before being traded back to Amur Khabarovsk in 2009.
