The Dallas Stars had a very successful season in 2007-08, making it deep into the postseason, and losing out to Detroit in the Western Conference Finals. The main moves Dallas made were at the traded deadline when they acquired star center Brad Richards. Richards was a great asset during the postseason, and should help Dallas even more during next season.brad richards

Dallas lost the services of forwards Antti Miettinen and Niklas Hagman over the course of free agency, but they signed troublemaker Sean Avery in their place. Avery missed a solid portion of last season with injuries, but still managed 33 points, and made the Rangers a better team just by his presence in the lineup. His off-ice baggage is a giant question mark on his net worth to a team, but if he can mature enough to just focus on playing hockey, he will excel in Dallas, especially with the cast of talented players they will be putting around him. Look for Dallas to be sniffing around the top of the standings at the end of next season.
