Notah Ryan Begay III is a professional golfer from the United States, who was born on September 14, 1972. Begay is best known for being the only full-bloodied American Indian who is playing in the PGA Tour. Begay grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico and studied in the private high school, Albuquerque Academy before studying in Stanford University.

During his time at Stanford, Begay became an All-American golfer three times, and was even a teammate of Tier Woods. In addition, he was also a member of Stanford’s Men’s Golf Championship team that competed in the NCAA Division I in 1994. After graduating college, Begay then turned pro and pursued a career in golf.

One of Begay’s most notable performance was the time he shot a perfect round (shot a 59) during the Nike Tour Dominion Open in the second round. So far, there are only a handful number of players who have done this in a professional tournament. Unfortunately, Begay did not win the Nike Tour but he did place tenth on the money list that year. the participation earned him a place in the PGA Tour for 1999, and since that time, he has been able to win two victories for each of his first two seasons.

So far, Begay has 2 PGA Tour victories plus 2 victories in minor tournaments since turning pro. He has also graced the four Major Championships at some point, where his highest rank was in 8th place during the 2000 PGA Championship. Unfortunately, he has yet to win a single Major Championship to add to his name.
