Beatrice Emma (Barrett) Altmeyer or “Bea” as called by her friends was an American amateur golfer who was born on November 15, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois. She was a member of the Minnesota Golf Hall of Fame since 1989. She also competed in golf tournaments either using her maiden or married name.

In her golf career, she won 11 golf titles. Her first recorded victory was at the 1933 Minnesota Women’s State Match Play Championship, and then continued to win the title five more times in 1937, 1946, 1947, 1958, and in 1961. She also won a total of four Minnesota Women’s State Amateur Championship titles which was in 1947, 1950, 1958, and in 1962. Her one and only major title was at the Western Open in 1938, which was then not yet recognized as a LPGA major championship tournament.
