Career

As an Amateur player, Højgaard won the 2016 Hovborg Kro Open, 2017, DGU Elite Tour I Herrer, the 2018 Hovborg Kro Open, and the 2018 European Amateur.

He played in the Nordic Golf League early in his career and earned his first professional win at the 2018 Bravo Tours Open. He beat Swedish player Ludwig Nordeklint by 2 strokes. In September 2021, he won his first European League tournament, the DS Automobiles Italian Open.

In 2022, Højgaard won the Ras Al Khaimah Championship. He led by 4 strokes, beating Jordan Smith.
