Nicolai Højgaard was born on March 12, 2001 in Billund, Denmark. He is the twin brother of professional golfer Rasmus Højgaard. The brothers were part of the same team that won the 2018 Eisenhower Trophy.
Career
As an amateur golfer, he was part of the team Danish team that took home the win in the 2017 European Boy’s Team Championship. They beat the Spanish team. Other notable finishes in his junior career include his second-place finish at the Toyota Junior World Cup. He also went on to play in the Junior Ryder Cup. He also represented his country in the Youth Olympic Games.
He turned pro in 2019 and he started playing in the Challenge Tour and the Nordic Golf League. He was a runner-up at the KLM Open
