Matt Jones is a professional golf player, who had won the PGA Tours and the Emirates Australian Open twice. He was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, but had to move to the US so he could improve his golfing skills. He also attended Arizona State University, so he could be a varsity for golf. Jones is currently married to Miss USA 2019, Melissa Weber, and together they have three daughters.

Career Highlight

Jones became a professional golf player in 2001. In 2004, he participated in the Nationwide Tour, however, his career seemed to be stagnant until 2007. Between 2004 to 2006, he had only reached the Top 10, and the curse breaks in 2007 when he finished 2nd place.

Although he is generally unsuccessful during his rookie season, still he did not give up. His best finish was when he placed 4th at the Honda Classic and the Buick Open. He also won prize money of $775,899.00. In 2010, he placed 7th at the Quail Hollow Championship and 2nd at the Australian Open.

In December 2019, he won the Emirates Australian Open by defeating some seasoned golf players such as Jack Nicklaus and Jordan Spieth. He also became the first Australian to have won the Australian Open twice since World War II.
