Bernd Wiesberger is a professional golf player who’s famous for playing on the European Tour. One of his best performances was during the 2019 Race to Dubai, as he finished 3rd place. Wiesberger was born in Vienna, Austria, where he learned to play golf. He also participated in some amateur tournaments. At a young age, he was chosen to represent his country for the Eisenhower Trophy in 2004 and 2006.
Wiesberger debuted during the Challenge Tour in 2007, and he joined again by the next year. Because he participated in the Challenge Tour, he was included in the European Tour through qualifying school. However, as a rookie player, he wasn’t able to win enough money to return to the Challenge Tour.
He also thought of joining the Allianz Golf Open de Lyon, where he finished 5th in the tournament. This made him pursue the European Tour because he had saved enough money for the tournament.
Wiesberger’s highest ranking in the World Ranking was in 21st place last November 2019.
Wiesberger has a total of 8 wins as a professional golf player. In 2013, he won his 6th professional win, and he successfully won the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters championships title by beating the reigning champion, Ernie Els.
By the following year, even though he lost the Austrian Open, he still managed to get into the Top 60. He also became the first Austrian golf player to play in the US Open.
