With the full name of Thomas Brent Weekley, Boo Weekley was named after Yogi Bear’s sidekick. This Ben Hogan fan was born and raised in Milton, Florida. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College but after playing for one year on the golf team, he was sent back home.

Weekley started playing in the Developmental Players Tour in Atlanta Georgia and only turned professional in 1997 playing mini tours. He finally qualified for the PGA Tour in 2002 but lost his card after 24 events. He participated in the Nationwide Tour from 2003 to 2006. In the same year, he qualified a second time for the PGA Tour and won the Verizon Heritage title in 2007 with a three stroke win after a par-4 tenth hole defeating Aaron Baddeley and Anthony Kim.

By the middle of the year, he was already ranked 55tth in the Official World Golf Rankings. By late 2007, he already entered the top 50. Kelly participated in the 2007 OMEGA Mission Hills World Cup representing the US and bagging second place with Heath Slocum. He played masterfully in the 2007 PGA Championship with a T9 finish, a T35 Open Championship finish and a T26 scoring average in the US Open.

He has successfully defended his title in the 2008 Verizon Heritage in Harbour Town. He has also earned a T4 finish at the Stanford St Jude Championship, averaging T8 at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, finishing T9 at the FBR Open and the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship. 37-year old Weekley currently resides in Jay, Florida.Weekley has also won 3 professional titles, from which 2 were won on the PGA Tour.
