Josh Teater is an American golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour. Born on April 6, 1979, Teater was a collegiate golfer while attending Morehead State University, where he won one collegiate title. He turned professional in 2001.
Since turning pro Teater played mostly on mini tours before joining the Nationwide Tour. He enjoyed a successful rookie season and finished as a runner-up to Michael Sim in the October Classic before winning the Utah Championship. He finished the season by placing 7th on the money list t to earn his PGA Tour Card. In 2010, Teater had two top 10 finishes, with 8 top 25 finishes. He also made a finish at 76th in the FedEx Cup standings.
For 2010, his best finishes include the Turning Stone Championship at T3rd, the AT&T Peeble Beach Pro-AM where he placed T5th and T14th at the Shell Houston Open. He also placed T15h in the Saint Jude Classic and T16h at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Teater’s best finish on the PGA Tour in 2011 is at 16th at the Zurich Classic in New Orleans. He also ranks T65th in Eagles on the PGA Tour. Other tournaments he played in the season include the Shell Houston Open, where he finished at T19, the Heritage, the Farmers Insurance Open, and the Puerto Rico Open.
Teater is instructed by Kentucky-based Matt Killen, who also works with Kenny Perry and J.B. Holmes.
