John Daly is one of the most highly-anticipated golfers in the century, and despite his old age, he plays better more than anyone else in the world. Daly was assigned to open the PGA Championship on Friday with an incredible shot. When he landed at the Kiawah Island, he already made headlines due to his physical appearance, especially his bushy beard. Daly is noted to play on the Champions Tour and he had a winning major victory in the Champion Tour 1991.
The weather is expected to be windy this week, which can be a big conflict to the tournament. An incredible player, Corey Conners had tried to defy the weather and ended a two-stroke lead. The 29-year-old Canadian golf player is also playing along with the World’s Top Golf Players, such as World Number 2 Justin Thomas, World Number 7 Rory McIlroy, and Australia’s Adam Scott.
Conners noted that playing at the PGA Championship is stress-free, and he mostly kept the ball in the fairway because of the weather.
Five-time PGA Championship winner Phil Mickelson was also present during the tournament and is currently placed in 8th place. The 50-year-old left-handed golf player says that he putted very well, and he is confident that he was able to right the ship.
Meanwhile, former four-time PGA Champion Rory McIlroy made six bogeys while Justin Thomas had three individual bogeys and a double bogey, while includes off-area target shots and sandy areas.
