The star player, Sakura Yokomine, understood that making some changes in her playing style might increase her ranking in the next season. She came in second after Momoko Ueda came first in the Japan LPGA. She claimed that if she retool her swing and compete abroad it will condition her to achieve the top ranking in the money title at the JPLGA season in Okinawa.sakura yokomine

She changed her top swing making it more accurate from an open stance. She positions her putter from a forgiving two-ball type to a more receptive Ping flat Answer-type one. Sakura claimed that she felt uncomfortable with the “square address” but commented that she will eventually get adapted to it.

Sakura is also in the habit of changing caddies on a regular basis. Recently, she hired John Bennet, a non-Japanese and who also happens to be David Smail’s caddy, during her first two events of the season.

On top of her wanting to earn the championship title, she, too, is determined to win at least four times during the season.

Sakura was ranked number 9th in the ANZ Ladies in Australia in February this year. She is also ready to make it big in the season-opening at the Daikin Orchid Ladies this month to be teed at Ryukyu Golf Club on Friday.

On the other hand, Momoko Ueda was named the U.S. LPGA Tour rookie. She is the youngest player who won the top title of the money list. She has played three tournaments this year including the SBS Open in Hawaii. She will also join the season opener in Okinawa together with Sakura.
