Younis Khan is headed to play for South Australia but has decided to delay for a week to make himself available for a big domestic match. This seems to be a good example of a conflict of interests to me, and the sort of problem that can arise from playing multinationally.
I agree. I'm sure South Africa wants all players present to get ready for the match. I can't see them being happy about his delay to play for a domestic team.
Just like with issues recently with the Scotland rugby players, you need your whole team to be able to practise together. This sort of thing can't be well liked.
There should be some stiff in his contract that would make him think twice, or thrice, before he makes a decision like this. I mean, a DOMESTIC match..?
I would think there would be something in their contracts about attending practices. I'm sure there probably is. Perhaps the penalties aren't stiff enough if this is an issue.
The only thing that I can think of is that perhaps they considered that whilst playing domestically, that was considered to be somehow equal to practise? I don't see how personally since it should have been days of it, but I think he only missed the friendlies before the real practise.
Pakistan's cricketers has really been fantastic lately. Their last match I saw was unbelievable show England the stuffs they are made of. Keep it up guys. We love your game
There ought to be some hardened agreement that would make him reconsider, or thrice before he settles on a choice like this. That is to say, a local match?
