Kaka now being a team player for Real Madrid has already started to express his desires to play against the last team he played for which is AC Milan. The two teams are paired to face one another in the group stages of the Champions League. That should be an interesting game.
I agree this should be a very interesting game. It should be interesting to see how Kaka's skills meld with this new team and to see how he plays in opposition to some of the players he was used to playing with.
Yes, it will be a unique game for us to watch and I am sure he will have mixed feelings once the game actually gets going. These may be opponents now however they were once his good friends. Emotions will be high I am sure.
I wonder if its all about team hopping and revenge? I see this many times over where a player just wants to "show them" (their last team) exactly what they are missing. Most times when a player decides to leave, its not that they were booted, so what gives?
I agree Roser, what gives? Usually the decision to leave a former team treads larger dollar signs.
Or sometimes, maybe the player feels unappreciated and wants to show the former team what they are missing in that respect. I think maybe fans play apart as well.
Roser and Ali you both have great points. I think it all has a great deal to do with "showing them" as you said. I know if I were playing a group of my old teammates I would want them to see how nice I play as well as know that I am there for them.
Playing against former team members can be all about fun, too. No matter how good a friend the person on the other team is, they all possess that drive to compete. I believe they can enjoy competeing together with no animosity.
Something to think about here but what if you have the chance for the larger dollar signs and the chance to get back at some "team mates" who never really gave you a welcoming shot at the team to start with. I could see mixed feelings getting the better of many guys out there on the field.
