Does anyone here play one of the various series of Football/Soccer videogames out there, and do you have a favorite game? My personal favorite was a game called World Cup Soccer for the original NES, but it didn't even have real teams. The gameplay was great though, and very easy to play.
I haven't played a football game since the days of the old ZX Spectrum, with the tape drive. Those games were the most difficult to control thing in the world, so I gave up at that point and didn't look at a footie game after that.
I really don't care nearly as much for the new Football games, since they tend to be more complicated and bogged down than they need to be. The NES and SNES Football games had it perfect, so why tamper with a winning formula which only increases frustrations for some players?
It pains me to admit that I never really got past the PacMan games. I think that these new games require way too much coordination and reflexes to make them fun for an old guy like me. My son never fails to amaze me with how fast he can move his fingers.
Komo: Ebay and Amazon are always worth a look if you want to find games for good prices. There are also plenty of other independant sites, which may offer even better deals. The internet is a huge place, so just try search on google for "Football Game Sales" or that like.
