Minkah Fitzpatrick is an American football player for NFL’s Pittsburg Steelers. He plays the free safety position. He played football during his college years in Alabama.

In the first round of the NFL Draft in 2018, Fitzpatrick was drafted by Miami Dolphins. However, he was later traded to the Steelers during the 2019 game season.

Career

Miami Dolphins chose Minkah Annane Fitzpatrick Jr. in the first round as the 11th overall pick in the NFL Draft of 2018. Fitzpatrick signed a $16.4 million 4-year contract with the Miami Dolphins, including a $10.04 million signing bonus.

He had his professional debut in the season opener of Dolphins versus the Tennessee Titans. He recorded 6 combined tackles during their 28 to 20 win versus Oakland

In 2019, particularly in Week 1 versus the Baltimore Ravens, he made 6 tackles as the Miami Dolphins lost 59 to 10. He also made six tackles in Week 2 versus the New England Patriots. On September 16, 2019, Miami Dolphins traded him along with their 4th round in 2020 and 7th round draft picks.

He finally made his debut with Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3 versus the San Francisco 49ers. In Week 6 versus Cleveland Browns, he successfully recorded his first interception of the game season off one pass thrown by Baker Mayfield. He returned it for a 33-yard touchdown in the 38 to 7 win.

On April 27, 2021, Pittsburgh Steelers picked up the 5th year option on Minkah Fitzpatrick’s contract for the 2022 season worth $10.612 million. On June 16, 2022, Minkah Fitzpatrick signed a $73.6 million worth of 4-year contract extension with the Steelers, including guaranteed money worth $36 million.
