Career

The Baltimore Ravens signed Tucker after not being chosen in the 2012 NFL Draft. He showed impressive performance preseason, leading the Ravens to name him a starter.

Tucker turned out to be an accurate kicker during his debut season. All his 42 PAT attempts made it, and he only missed 3 out of his 33 field goals. In Week 3 versus the New England Patriots, he kicked a field two seconds left, giving the team its victory. Tucker continued his performance well into the championship.

In the 2013 season, Tucker again showed that he is an accurate kicker. On December 16, 2013, he even kicked a record-tying six field goal and a 61-yard field goal when the game was in its last minute. This set a record in the NFL as the longest field goal that happened in a domed stadium.

Tucker finished the 2014 season with 129 of the 409 points in that season that the Ravens scored. The year 2015 was Tucker’s worst year when he missed 7 field goals even though he was leading the league when it came to field goal attempts. During Week 13, opposite the Miami Dolphins, he missed a potential go-ahead 55-yard field goal that contributed to the team’s loss.

In 2016, Tucker signed Ravens’ franchise tender and entered a 4-year extension with the team. This year was one of Tucker’s most successful seasons, which led to him being named to the Pro Bowl for the second time. Tucker was also named First-team All-Pro for the second time.

He finished 34 of 37 field goals in the 2017 season. This year, he was also named second-team All-Pro. In 2018, Tucker became the first NFL player in history to have 6 seasons of 30 or more field goals made. On January 6, 2019, Tucker recorded his first miss postseason against the Los Angeles Chargers.

In 2019, Tucker signed a 4-year contract extension with the Ravens. He remained one of the most accurate kickers in the NFL even in the 2020 season.
