Baker Reagan Mayfield is an American football player who plays quarterback for the NFL team, the Cleveland Browns. Mayfield played football in Oklahoma during college, where he successfully won the Heisman Trophy.

Mayfield was born on April 14, 1995, in Austin, Texas. He stands 185 cm and weighs 98 kg. He grew up as an avid Oklahoma fan and even attended some games during childhood.

Career

The Cleveland Browns chose Mayfield as the first overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. He signed a 4-year contract with the team on July 24, 2018.

In 2019, Baker Mayfield recorded his very first game with two or more passing touchdowns versus the Buffalo Bills in Week 10. He completed 26 of 38 passes for 2 touchdowns and 238 yards.

In 2020, in Week 1 versus Baltimore Ravens, he threw for one touchdown, 189 passing yards, and one interception in the 35 to 30 wins. He had many succeeding games after this. Overall, he finished the season with 9 interceptions, 30 touchdowns, and 4, 030 passing yards through 18 games.

In November 2021, he injured his right knee during a Week 10 loss to the Patriots. Though the knee contusion isn’t severe, Coach Kevin Stefanski decided not to put Mayfield in the entire game because of him absorbing hits and the game turning out of reach.

Upon Browns’ elimination from the post-season following the loss in Week 17 to Pittsburgh Steelers, they announced that Baker Mayfield would undergo a surgical procedure for his torn labrum ending his season.

On January 5, 2022, Mayfield was placed on the injured reserve. For that season, Baker Mayfield threw for 13 interceptions, 17 touchdowns, and 3, 010 yards in a total of 14 games.
