Alexander Mattison was born on June 19, 1998, in San Bernardino, California. A running back, he stands 180 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 98 kg.
Mattison attended the San Bernardino High School in his hometown. In his final two seasons, he rushed 2000 yards each. In addition to football, he also played wrestling. By the time he was a senior, he was considered a top recruit and he committed to play for the Boise State University.

College and Professional Career
He played for Boise from 2016 to 2018. In his last year, he was named to the First-Team All-MV. In 2019, he decided to forgo the rest of his college eligibility and decides to declare for the NFL.
Mattison was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. At the end of his rookie season, he had rushed 462 yards. One of the best moments of his professional career was Week 5 2020 when he made 20 carries and 112 rushing yards.
