Duke Johnson is an American professional football player from Miami, Florida. As of the 2022 season, he plays for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. He also played for the Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans, and the Miami Dolphins. He also signed to the practice squad of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021.
Player Profile, High School, and College Career
Randy “Duke” Johnson Jr. was born on September 23, 1993, in Miami, Florida. He stands 175 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 95 kg.
He attended the Miami Norland Senior High School where he play football as well as track. He was a standout in both sports. By the time he was a senior, he was considered by Rivals.com as one of the best all-purpose running backs that year.
From 2012 to 2014, he committed to play for the University of Miami. While there, he was named the ACC Rookie of the Year. He was also named 2012’s ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year.
In 2014, he announced that he was going to forgo the rest of his college eligibility in order to declare for the NFL Draft. In the draft, he was picked by the Cleveland Browns. They picked him in the third round and he was the 7th overall pick of the draft.
He signed with the team in June 2015. During training camp, he had a hamstring injury that saw him miss the first preseason game. He stayed with the team through to 2019 when he was traded to the Houston Texans in August 2019. The Texans released him in February 2021
In September 2021, he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars to play in their practice squad. In October of that year, he signed to the Miami Dolphins practice squad as well. He was signed to their active roster a few months later.
In March 2022, he was signed by the Buffalo Bills.
