Tyler Higbee is a professional football player in the National Football League. He plays for the Los Angeles Rams and was part of the team that won Super Bowl LVI in 2021. Prior to joining the NFL, he played collegiate basketball for the University of Kentucky from 2011 to 2015.

Tyler Higbee was born on January 1, 1993, in Clearwater, Florida. The tight end stands 198 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 116 kg. He attended the East Lake High School in Tarpon Springs. While there, he played both football and baseball. Then a wide receiver, he was named the MVP of his team.

Rivals.com ranked him as a two-star recruit and he went on to play for the University of Western Kentucky. By his senior year, he was one of the top tight ends in college football.

Professional Career

In 2016, he played in the Senior Bowl. Later, in the 2016 NFL Draft, he was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the fourth round. He was the draft’s 110th overall pick. He was one of three Western Kentucky players to be chosen that year. The others were Prince Charles Iworah and Brandon Doughty.

In June 2016, he signed a four-year contract with the Rams and he was later named by Coach Jeff Fisher as their third tight end. He made his first NFL start in the season opener. By 2021, he was playing in almost all of the games. That year, the team went on to win Super Bowl LIV but Higbee was not on an active play because he had been placed on injured reserve the day before.
