Michael Gallup is an American footballer who is a wide receiver for the NFL team Dallas Cowboys. He was adopted when he was 10 months old.

Career

Gallup went to Monroe Area High School, where he played not only football but also basketball and baseball. He also ran track. He played football at Colorado State but went to Butler Community College before that.

Gallup finished college with numerous accomplishments, such as being the only player to catch 3 or more touchdowns three times in all school history. He played in the Senior Bowl in 2017 and attended the Indianapolis NFL Scouting Combine.

In 2018, the Dallas Cowboys picked Gallup as the 81st overall pick in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He signed a 4-year contract worth $3.5 million with the team, including an $889,980 signing bonus.

He debuted in a game against Carolina Panthers in 2018. In Week 9, Gallup caught his first touchdown in the NFL on a 49-yard pass during the game versus the Washington Redskins. He finished his rookie season with 33 receptions for 507 yards, 8 starts, and 2 touchdowns.

In the 2019 season, Gallup helped the Cowboys win against the New York Giants with a 35-17 victory. However, a knee injury caused him to miss Weeks 3 and 4. Gallup finished his second year with 66 receptions for 1,107 yards, 12 starts, and 6 touchdowns.

The year 2020 is slow for Gallup, but he finished the season with 59 receptions, 15 starts, and touchdowns. In 2021, his calf injury put him on the injured reserve, activated in November, but put back again due to tearing his ACL.

He finished the year with 35 receptions for 445 yards, 8 starts, and 2 touchdowns. He only played in 9 games. In 2022, he signed an extension with the Cowboys. He sealed a $62.5 million deal for a 5-year contract.
