George Kittle is a professional American football player from the United States of America. As of the 2022 season, he plays in the National Football League for the San Francisco 49ers. In 2018, 2019, and 2021, he was selected to play in the Pro Bowl. He has also been named to the First-team All-Pro in 2019.
Player Profile, High School and College Career
George Krieger Kittle was born on October 9, 1993, in Madison, Wisconsin. The Tight End stands 193 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 113 kg. He attended there different high schools, including the Iowa City West High School, Cedar Falls High School, and Norman High School.
He committed to play for the University of Iowa where his father also played collegiate football. He stayed with the school from 2012 to 2016. Some of his college teammates include Henry Krieger-Coble, Noah Fant, Ray Hamilton, and CJ Beathard.
By his senior year, he had become a top tight-end prospect. He was drafted into the NFL by the San Francisco 49ers. He was their 146th pick in the 5th round. There, he reunited with former college teammate Beathard.
He debuted in the 2017 season opener. In 2018, he was named to the Second-team All-Pro. In the same year, he was selected to play in the Pro Bowl for the first time. He will be chosen to play in the Pro Bowl again in 2019 and 2021.
In 2020, he signed a five-year contract with the 49ers. It was worth a reported US$75 million with an additional signing bonus. This made him the highest-paid tight end in the history of the NLF.
