James White is an American football player known for his running back position. He plays for the New England Patriots of the NFL. White also plays football during his college years at the University of Wisconsin.
The Patriots chose him in the 4th round of the NFL Draft in 2014. White was born to Lisa White and Tyrone White, a great Pig Bowl team player for almost 12 years.
Career
James Calvin White’s rookie career started in 2014. New England Patriots drafted him in the fourth round, 130th overall of the 2014 NFL Draft. However, White was only active for three games for the said team. He made his NFL debut in Week 4 versus the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the 2015 season, White finished it with 40 receptions, and 4 touchdowns with 22 carry for around 56 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. During the 2016 season, White had a breakout where he finished with 60 receptions and 5 receiving touchdowns that went along with 39 carries for 166 rushing guards.
On April 18, 2017, James White signed a 3-year $12 million worth of extension contract through the 2020 season. White successfully completed the 2017 season with 43 carries and 56 receptions for 429 yards and 3 touchdowns. In 2018, he was named the team captain for the first time in his football career.
White finished the season setting 425 career-high rushing yards and 5 rushing touchdowns, 571 receiving yards, 87 receptions, and 7 receiving touchdowns. In 2019, White ended up a complete finish with 263 rushing yards and a touchdown together with 72 receptions and 5 receiving touchdowns.
In 2020, a few hours before the Week 2 game versus Seattle Seahawks, James White’s father passed away in a car crash while his mother was in critical condition. This is why White was listed as an inactive player for the game.
On March 25, 2021, he once again signed a one-year contract with the Patriots. The contract cost $2.5 million. On March 15, 2022, James White signed a 2-year $5 million contract extension with the New England Patriots.
