Michael Thomas is a professional American football player in the National Football League (NFL). He currently holds the wide receiver position for the New Orleans Saints. He is a two-time Pro Bowler and a 2018 NFL receptions leader.
Born on March 3, 1993 in California, Thomas was ranked as a four-star recruit by Rivals.com while playing football for Taft High School. He attended Fork Union Military Academy for one year before playing football for Ohio State University. He declared for the 2016 NFL Draft and was selected by the New Orleans Saints.
During his debut season, he was one of the starting wide receivers and set franchise rookie records in touchdowns, receiving yards, and receptions. Thomas became the team’s number one receiver in the 2017 season and recorded 196 receptions in his first two seasons – the most in the history of the league.
In the 2018 season, Thomas was named to his second consecutive Pro Bowl and set a franchise record in receiving yards. His current player statistics are 321 receptions, 3,787 receiving yards, and 23 receiving touchdowns.
