Kevin Byard is a professional American football player in the National Football League (NFL). He currently holds a safety position for the Tennessee Titans. Byard is a one-time Pro Bowler and the 2017 NFL Interceptions Co-Leader.
Born on August 17, 1993 in Pennsylvania, Byard ran track and played football at the Martin Luther King Jr. High School. He then went on to attend Middle Tennessee State University where he set a new record for the most career receptions at 19. He declared for the 2016 NFL Draft and was selected by the Tennessee Titans.
During his rookie season, he was ranked second among rookie safeties by Pro Football Focus with a grade of 78.9. In 2017, he was named to his first career Pro Bowl as a replacement for an injury. He was also ranked 80th in the Top 100 Players of 2018 in the NFL.
He recorded 90 tackles, 8 pass deflections, 2 sacks, and 4 interceptions in the 2018 season. His current player statistics are 235 total tackles, 28 pass deflections, 12 interceptions, 3 sacks, and 2 fumble recoveries.
