Jadeveon Clowney is a professional American football player in the National Football League (NFL). He currently holds the outside linebacker position for the Houston Texans. Clowney is a three-time Pro Bowl and an exceptional defensive player.
Born on February 14, 1993 in South Carolina, Clowney was a superb football and track player at South Pointe High School. He went on to attend the University of South Carolina where he was an All-American. Clowney declared for the 2014 NFL Draft and was selected by the Houston Texans as the first overall pick.
His performance on his rookie season was greatly hampered by injuries. He recorded his first sack in the league during the 2015 season. Clowney was able to recover during the 2016 season and was ranked 49th in the Top 100 Players list.
He went up to rank 32 by the next season and while he was named to his second Pro Bowl, his knee injury kept him from playing. Clowney was named Defensive Player of the Week in a game against the Indianapolis Colts during the 2018 season. His current player statistics are 205 tackles, 29.0 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 6 fumble recoveries, 11 pass deflections, and 2 defensive touchdowns.
