Todd Gurley is a professional American football player in the National Football League (NFL). He currently holds the running back position for the Los Angeles Rams. Gurley was the 2017 NFL Offensive Player of the year and the 2015 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Born on August 3, 1994 in Baltimore, Maryland, Gurley where he excelled in football, track, and basketball. He even competed for Team USA at the 2011 World Youth Championships in the 110-meters hurdles. Gurley played college football for the University of Georgia while he still continued to compete for the track team as well.
Foregoing his senior year, he declared for the 2015 NFL Draft and became the 10th overall pick for the St. Louis Rams. During his rookie year, he was ranked 22nd in the NFL Top 100 Players and had recorded 1,106 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on 229 attempts.
He struggled during the 2016 season but was still able to finish 17th in the league with 885 yards, 55.3 yards per game, and 6 touchdowns. Gurley was able to bounce back in the next season when he became the 16th player in the league’s history to record a 750/750 rushing/receiving yard season. He also became the NFL Offensive Player of the Year and was ranked 6th in the league.
In 2018, he became the highest-paid running back in the league. The Rams had a Super Bowl Appearance in 2018 but Gurley struggled in his performance due to a knee injury.
His current statistics are 1,042 rushing attempts, 4,547 rushing yards, 4.4 rushing average, 46 rushing touchdowns, 187 receptions, 1,883 receiving yards, and 10 receiving touchdowns. Achievements:
