Drew Emeric Stanton is a professional quarterback for the Detroit Lions team of NFL. He played quarterback for Michigan State Spartans prior to being chosen by the Detroit Lions in the 2007 NFL Draft. He was picked in the second round and was the 43rd pick overall.

At MSU, he threw for 6,524 yards, completing 64-percent of his passes. He tossed 42 touchdown passes and 28 interceptions. He also rushed for 1,512 yards, scoring 15 touchdowns on the ground.

Stanton, who is six-foot-three and 228 pounds, is athletic and versatile. He’s a smart player with fine leadership qualities. Stanton is able to make all NFL throws. A mobile QB, he ably throws on the run. He’s a tough competitor, energetic leader, hard-working and intelligent player. Stanton needs more experience and must be more patient in the pocket, but he could earn a starting spot in the next year or two. That is if he can stay healthy.

Stanton has seen no action with the Lions. On August 3, 2007, the QB was put on the injured reserve list after undergoing surgery for a season-ending knee injury.
