Pittsburgh Steelers: Pittsburgh Steelers is the fifth oldest franchise in National Football League. It was founded in 1933 by Arthur Joseph Rooney. Initially, it was known as Pittsburgh Pirates. It was renamed as Steelers in 1940. The change in name was undertaken to reflect the main heritage of the region i.e. steel production. Initially, the team failed to taste any major success and it just had 22 wins from the first seven seasons. It took 40 years for the Pittsburgh Steelers to win their first division title, which they won in 1972. The 70s was probably one of the most memorable decades for Pittsburgh Steelers. They were the first team to win four Super Bowls and are the only team to twice win it back-to-back. The team earned the moniker ‘Team of the Decade’ in 1970s due to their memorable performances, which culminated into six consecutive AFC Central crowns, eight straight years of playoff appearances and four Super Bowl championships.
