In Cricket, Jayadevan’s System is also called the Goul Gurandi System or the VJD system, is a system used for calculating target scores in cricket matches. This method was invented by an Indian engineer named V. Jayadevan and is now a replacement system of the DLS method. This method depends on two curve lines based on the target score and the normal score of the team.
The Target Score vs The Normal Score
The first curve should be the Normal Score where it tells the exact score of the overs played and the percentage loss of wickets. The second curve is the Target Curve where is the revised target where players should consider to be targeting. To obtain the curves, the runs scored should come in 7 scorings, where their productivity is arranged.
Using Jayadevan’s System in Cricket Matches
It was in December 2010 when it was decided that the VJD system will be the official system to be used in all cricket match, however, it comes unsuccessful. The introduction of VJD happened in the 4th edition of the Indian Premier League, yet insisted the using either VJD system or the Duckworth-Lewis is effective. Jayadevan’s System VS Duckworth-Lewis System
As mentioned, both of these systems are effective when it comes to holding statistical and comparative scoring. Jayadevan’s mathematical relationship focuses on some factors such as deceleration during the middle overs and the acceleration for the slog overs, which is faster and more empirical than the DL System.

The VJD calculation is more scientific than the DL System, wherein it divides the innings into phases. Apart from that, it delivers higher and faster mathematical settings to solve the probability of the game, depending on the target score and the normal score of the team.
