Western Fury was founded in 1996 as a women’s cricket team representing Western Australia. Western Fury is a Perth based team of Western Australia. Most of the home games of the teams are played in its home ground, which is in WACA ground with a capacity of 20,000 people, even though the team also plays their matches at other grounds including the Floreat Oval.

In Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) the team represented the Western Australian state. The team is captained by Peta Merrilees and is coached by Job van Bunge, a former Dutch player of Netherlands. Vice-captain of the team is Rene Farell who is also a member of Australian Women’s Cricket team.
