The Jharkhand cricket team is a Ranji Trophy plate team which is based in Bihar, India. This team was known initially as the Bihar cricket team. However, when the old state of Bihar got split up, this team got renamed as most of the cricketing infrastructure was in Jharkhand.
Though the success of the team was limited, it has won one of the five matches held in 2007-08 season of the Ranji Trophy. Irrespective of the status, it has produced good quality players so far.
Some of the noted players of the Jharkhand cricket team are Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the captain of the Indian national cricket team, Saurabh Tiwary, Vijay Bharadwaj and Sanjeev Sinha.
The present men squad of the team in 2010-11 Ranji Trophy includes Sunil Sharma, Manish Kumar, the captain of the team, Ishank Jaggi, Prabhat Kumar, Shahid Khan, Saurabh Tiwary and many more. The under 19 squad includes players like Sudhakar Mani Tripathi, Ashish Ranjan, Amit Singh, Harendra Sharma and others.
