Born on 10 September 1985 in Newport, Isle of Wight, Griffiths is a professional English cricketer. Currently, he plays for Hampshire County Cricket Club. A specialist right-arm medium-fast bowler, Griffiths has the potential to hit a few shots when needed.
Griffiths is a product of Hampshire’s Academy signed by Hampshire for the season of 2005 along with Jono McLean. Before that he regularly played for their second XI for two years. In 2004, he was also included in the Under-19s team of England against Bangladesh in Hove. He was even selected for the Under-19s squad that toured India in 2005. During this tour, he was a part of 2 Tests and 3 One-Day internationals.
David Griffiths turned out to be the leading wicket-taker in the second XI championship with thirty eight wickets at an average of 16.71 in 2007.
In the 27 first-class matches that he has played, he picked up 82 wickets with best figures of 6 for 85.
