Robert Woodman is a professional English cricketer who plays for the Gloucestershire County Cricket Club. Born in Taunton in Somerset, he is an all rounder, with being a left hand batsman and left arm seamer who made his debut in 2005 for Somerset. Known for his ability to swing the ball when in form and amazing potentiality of a batsman, Woodman is an exceptional player for Gloucestershire.

After attending the Castle School Taunton, he joined the Richard Huish College from where he developed passion for cricket. In 2005, Robert scored 46 runs on his first class match for the Somerset team against Worcestershire. He played in three first class matches in 2005. By 2006, he played for England in under 19 Cricket World Cup held in Sri Lanka.

Though he never played first team cricket for Somerset in 2006, he was a regular player for the second XI and for Devon. In 2008, he signed for Gloucestershire after impressive performance in a match held for the MCC Young Cricketers XI.

Career Highlights

Recently for the MCC Young Cricketers XI team, he became a leading player. Moreover, he was also the twelfth man for the England national team in the first test match held against South Africa at Lords in 2008.
