Timothy David Paine was born on 8th December 1984 in Hobart, Tasmania. He is an Australian Cricketer and plays for Tasmanian Tigers in domestic Cricket. Paine is a right-handed batsman and a Wicket-Keeper. He has received his training from the Australian Cricket Academy.

Paine has been very successful in the domestic circuit for Australian Cricket and has wonderful figures before his name. He played his debut ODI match against England as a replacement for wicket-keeper Brad Haddin. In the same series in the sixth match he scored his first ODI Century. Haddin could not recover his injury and hence, Tim Paine got another chance to debut in Test matches played against Pakistan in England.

Tim Paine bats in an orthodox manner which is a characteristic of playing with the straight bat. Usually he opens the innings for the Australian Team in the one-day matches and shifts down to the sixth spot in the Test Matches. He has better batting technique in comparison to the current wicket-keeper batsman Brad Haddin. Paine is capable of hitting runs at a good strike rate which makes him a better choice for the Twenty20 format.

Sahara Pune Warriors will look forward for better performances from Timothy in this IPL 2011 as he has been bought to the side through the auction.
