Shashi Gupta is a former Indian cricket player who hails from Delhi, India. She has played several one-day international matches and test matches for her country. Gupta was a right handed batsman and a right armed medium pace bowler.
Before joining the national cricket side, Gupta played at the domestic front for the Railways women’s cricket team in India. Gupta made her debut for the national women’s team in 1984 to play against the Australian women’s team. The same year, she played at her debut one-day international match, also against the Australian women.
Gupta played a total of 13 test matches and 20 one day internationals and scored 452 runs and 263 runs from them respectively. Her batting average for test matches remains at 28.25 and for one-day matches is 20.23 with highest scores at 48 and 50 in that order. Gupta took 25 wickets from test matches and had successfully dismissed 15 batsmen in one-day matches. Her bowling averages for the same stand at 31.28 as well as 23.46 correspondingly.
Her best bowling figures for test matches are 4 wickets for 47 runs and 3 wickets for 17 runs for one-day matches.
