Ruth Emily Westbrook was born in 1930 in England. She played around 11 Test matches for the England women’s cricket team in the period from 1957 to 1963. Her major teams include East Women, Kent Women, England Women, Yorkshire Women and North Women.
She married England test cricketer, Roger Prideaux. This couple is the only married couple to have played Test Cricket. Later on, she coached the England women’s team prior to emigrating to South Africa with her husband. She is also known by the name Ruth Prideaux.
She made her test debut was against the New Zealand Women’s team at Christchurch in 1957. Her last test match was against the Australian Women’s team at the Oval in 1963.
Ruth played in 11 matches and scored 20 innings, 5 not outs, 476 runs, 87 of highest inning score and 3 half innings. She took around 13 catches and made 9 stumpings.
