Bhuvneshwar Kumar is an Indian cricket player who was born in 1990 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. This right hand batsman and right arm medium pacer plays professionally as a bowler for teams like Uttar Pradesh cricket team and the IPL team, Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was selected to bowl for the Sahara Pune Warriors IPL 2011 and presently has been retained by this team to play for the IPL 5 season 2012.
Kumar has a knack of extracting movement in both ways with the new ball. Though his pace is not that threatening, Kumar makes up for it with the movement. He was barely 16 years of age, when he made it to the UP senior side, having spent two season with the under 19 side.
During his second season, he played very good with the bowl ahead of either Praveen Kumar or RP Singh. His five wicket haul in 2008-09 finals was amazing. He also came through as a vital lower middle order batsman in his second first class season, making a jump from his usual tailender slot in the junior sides.
