Wayne Parnell is a South African Professional Cricketer and was born on 30th July 1989. Parnell is a Left-arm fast-medium bowler and a left handed batsman. He plays tests ODIs and Twenty20 matches for the South African Team. He has played for Warriors, Eastern Province and Kent in domestic circuit. Presently, he has been retained by the team of Pune Warriors to play at the IPL 5 season 2012.
In 2008 Under-19 Cricket World Cup Wayne Parnell was chosen as the Captain of the South Africa Team. He finished the tournament on a high note by taking the maximum number of wickets at a bowling average of 8.38 and 18 wickets in total.
Parnell came into the South African Team on the basis of his good performances in domestic and Under-19 tournaments. One of his better performances in the ODIs came into the Centurion ODI where he picked up 4 wickets for 25.
In May 2009 Parnell was made a part of the ICC World Twenty20 Tournament held in England. He excelled the tournament by taking 9 wickets at an average of 13.22. Wayne Parnell also won the Golden Ball for taking the maximum wickets in ICC Champions Trophy 2009 with 11 wickets.
Wayne Parnell has developed the art of bowling good and accurate Yorkers at the end of the innings and also he has been successful in swinging the ball both ways. In the Indian Premier League, he has played for the Delhi Dare Devils Team in 2010. Now he will be offering his services to the Sahara Pune Warriors.
