David Andrew Warner is an Australian cricket player born in Paddington, Sydney in 1986. This instant scorer left hand opening batsman is the first Australian cricket player in 132 years to have been selected for a national team without any prior experience in first class cricket. Presently, he is with the team of Delhi Daredevils to play at the IPL 5 season 2012.
Noted for his aggressive matches played for teams of Durham and New South Wales, David has earned a contract in the Twenty20 IPL with the Delhi Daredevils. At the age of 13, he was asked to switch to right hand batting by his coach as he kept on hitting the ball in the air. One season later, he went back to left hand breaking the under 16’s run scoring a record for the Sydney Coastal Cricket Club. Later on, he made his first grade debut for the Eastern Suburbs club and toured Sri Lanka with the Australian under 19’s, thus earning a rookie contract with the New South Wales team.
David is well known for his aerial route aggressive left hand batting style. He even can switch hit, by using the back of his bat or by taking a right hand stance. This athletic fielder is also a part time spin bowler. With a unique bowling style, he can mix off spin bowling with his leg spin bowling.
